Keio University

Four Years of Study

The curriculum of Keio University Faculty of Nursing and Medical Care develops progressively, from learning that cultivates a broad understanding of people and society, to study that steadily enhances nursing knowledge and skills—all guided by the spirit of kyūkō jissen (practice of putting learning into action). Our program is not limited to lectures. It is also characterized by group work, seminars, and practical training that enable students to grow together with their peers through collaborative thinking and mutual support. The curriculum cultivates perspectives connecting health, medical care, and welfare with an international outlook in order to develop the capabilities needed to lead the future of nursing.

Shonan Fujisawa Campus

As the foundation for their nursing studies, students gain an understanding of people, since they are the target of nursing, and acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for nursing care. Through each practical course, students gain knowledge of people’s diverse lifestyles and ways of living, as well as the actual situations of the various forms of medical care, public health and welfare. This serves to enhance their interest in the social role nursing should fulfill. Through participation in the Intermediate Inter-Professional Education Program, students understand what good team-based medical care is.
