Keio Nursing Archive

As part of the 100th anniversary project of Keio Nursing, we have undertaken the Keio Nursing Archive Project to widely collect documents and materials that tell the story of Keio Nursing's journey and to pass on its history and culture to the next generation. Severely damaged materials among those collected have been restored, and we are storing them using appropriate preservation methods based on their condition. We are also digitizing the collected materials as much as possible to make them available for future historical research.

The materials collected so far include the following:

Inaugural issue (1934)–No. 89 (2008)

Historical materials related to the approval for establishment in 1917 (Taisho 6); Department of Medicine Nurse Training Center; documents submitted to the Ministry of Education and other bodies regarding the establishment and abolition of schools, from the School for Nurses and Midwives, Kosei Women's College, Associate Nursing School, and Higher Nursing School to the College of Nursing; records concerning the transition of University Regulations; various internal records such as student recruitment, admission, timetables, examinations, and graduation; various notifications from public institutions during the war; student and alumni rosters; and more.

Shikishi (calligraphy boards) by Shinzo Koizumi and Masafumi Tomita, and other items.

The Keio Nursing Archive makes its materials available to researchers and alumni for academic activities, such as historical research, and for the compilation of histories, such as those of student organizations. If you wish to view the archive materials, please fill out the "Viewing Application Form" with the required information and submit your application. We will contact you later regarding the approval of your request and the necessary procedures. Please note that it may take several days for us to respond. Please also be aware that we may not be able to accommodate all viewing requests.
