Four Researchers from Keio University selected among the World's Most Influential Researchers (Highly Cited Researchers 2022)

The four researchers selected on November 15, 2022 to the annual Clarivate Analytics Highly Cited Researchers (HCR) list were Professor Kenya Honda from the School of Medicine (Department of Microbiology and Immunology), Associate Professor Koji Atarashi (Department of Microbiology and Immunology), Professor Toshiro Sato (The Sakaguchi Laboratory/Organoid Medicine), and Project Assistant Professor Nobuo Sasaki (affiliated with Keio University's Department of Internal Medicine [Gastroenterology and Hepatology] at the time of research, now a Professor at Gunma University). The HCR list recognizes outstanding scientists and social scientists who have published multiple papers landing in the top 1% of citations for research in their respective disciplines, covering 21 fields and multidisciplinary areas. In the 2022 edition, 6,938 researchers from 69 countries were chosen worldwide, with 90 of these from Japan (including cross-field domains.)

Professor Kenya Honda and Associate Professor Koji Atarashi were chosen in the field of Immunology, while Professor Toshiro Sato and Project Assistant Professor Nobuo Sasaki (affiliated with Keio University at the time of research) were selected in the field of Molecular Biology and Genetics.
