Vice-President Okuda Visits United Arab Emirates University

On February 2, 2026, Professor Akiyo Okuda, Vice-President for Student Affairs and Hiyoshi Campus, began a three-day visit to United Arab Emirates University (UAEU), where she met Professor Ahmed Ali Alraeesi, the university’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Mohamed Bin Huwaidin, Dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, and Assistant Professor Ghaneimah AlYammahi, Chair of the Department of Arabic Language and Literature.

During her stay, Vice-President Okuda joined with UAEU faculty to discuss future possibilities for academic exchange at Keio’s Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Arabic Learning Center (ALC), which opened on Hiyoshi Campus in May 2025.

She also visited the classrooms and other facilities that Keio students will use during the upcoming intensive Arabic immersion program planned by the two universities.
