1. Energy Conservation Target
Reduce the energy consumption intensity unit at each campus by 2% or more compared to AY 2024.
*1 Energy consumption intensity unit
A value calculated by converting each type of energy (e.g., electricity, gas) into its calorific value to sum up the usage of energies with different units, and then dividing the total value by the total floor area of each campus.
2. April Results
Although all campuses showed a decrease compared to the previous academic year, only two campuses, the Shonan Fujisawa Campus (SFC) and the Shiba-Kyoritsu Campus, achieved the target of a 2% or more reduction.
(1) Comparison with AY 2024 (figures in parentheses indicate the energy consumption intensity unit)
Mita Campus: 99% (45MJ/m 2 )
Hiyoshi Campus: 99% (57MJ/m 2 )
Yagami Campus: 99% (138MJ/m 2 )
Shonan Fujisawa Campus (SFC): 97% (51MJ/m 2 )
Shiba-Kyoritsu Campus: 98% (127MJ/m 2 )
Shinanomachi Campus: 99% (193MJ/m 2 )
(2) Factor Analysis
The outside air temperature (in Tokyo), which is closely related to energy consumption, was generally on par with the previous academic year. However, for the first few days of the month, temperatures were considerably lower than in AY 2024. It is believed that this increased the demand for heating, causing a rise in energy consumption at the beginning of the month. Meanwhile, at the Shonan Fujisawa Campus (SFC), despite an increase in the operation of heating and servers, reductions in the energy consumption intensity unit were achieved through operational improvements to heat source equipment and initiatives to switch to LED lighting.
