On Monday, March 17, the Keio University President's Award and Koizumi Sports Encouragement Award Ceremony was held from 3:00 p.m. at the University Library (Old Building) Memorial Room on Mita Campus.
The President's Award aims to widely publicize and honor, both within and outside Keio, students who have demonstrated exemplary performance in a wide range of fields such as academics, arts, social activities, and cultural activities, separate from their academic studies and athletic pursuits. These achievements not only bring honor to the individuals themselves but also enhance the prestige of Keio University. The Koizumi Sports Encouragement Award, on the other hand, aims to honor groups or individuals not belonging to the Athletic Association who are of outstanding character, are in good health, and have enhanced the reputation of Keio University through sports.
This academic year, one student received the President's Award, one group (six members) and one individual received The President's Honorable Mention, and four students received the Koizumi Sports Encouragement Award. President Kohei Ito, Vice-President Akio Okuda, and Masanori Tagami, Director of the Student Life Services Center, attended the ceremony. President Ito delivered a congratulatory address to the awardees, who were then presented with certificates and commemorative medals.
Following the award ceremony, a commemorative photo session and a social gathering were held. The awardees celebrated each other's honors by explaining their achievements and asking questions, and the event concluded in a consistently friendly atmosphere.
