Keio University President Kohei Itoh and Vice-President Motohiro Tsuchiya attended the 29th Annual Presidents' Meeting (APM) of the Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU), hosted by University of California, San Diego, from June 22 to 24, 2025.
The meeting was attended by more than 120 participants, including presidents of APRU member universities, who engaged in lively discussions on the theme "Human Longevity in a Changing World: Innovation, Education, and Leadership for a Resilient Future."
President Itoh moderated a panel discussion titled "AI and Longevity: Global Challenges and International Research Collaboration." Amidst an exchange of views, President Itoh elaborated on the various initiatives spearheaded by the Center for Supercentenarian Medical Research at the Keio University School of Medicine, an institution at the forefront of research on aging, and also touched on the importance of international collaboration.
In addition, on June 24, a separate meeting was also held with the president and vice president of Yonsei University to discuss ideas for further collaboration and cooperation between the two universities going forward.
