The Correspondence Courses offer summer schooling as part of their in-person classes. This year again, following the orientation on August 6, schooling classes, including physical education and laboratory experiments, were held. Period I (August 7–12) and Period II (August 14–19) took place at Hiyoshi Campus, while Period III (August 21–26) was held at Mita Campus. Approximately 1,500 students in Period I, 1,100 in Period II, and 1,600 in Period III from the correspondence courses participated.
The Shinzo Koizumi Memorial Lecture, an academic lecture held annually during the schooling period, was canceled this year due to a typhoon. This lecture by Ken Tsutsumibayashi, Dean of the Faculty of Law, is scheduled to be distributed on-demand to students of the correspondence courses at a later date. Additionally, on August 22, a special lecture by President Kohei Ito commemorating the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Office of Correspondence Courses, titled "150 Years since 'Gakumon no susume (An Encouragement of Learning)'", was held, with many students from the correspondence courses in attendance.
Although the schooling was held amid a record-breaking heatwave and with concerns about class cancellations due to a typhoon, the campuses were bustling with many students throughout the period, and students of all ages devoted themselves to their studies.
