Yusuke Kaikawa, a fourth-year student at the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies and a member of the Athletic Association Track and Field Club, competed as a member of the Kanto Student Union Team in the 99th Tokyo-Hakone Round-Trip University Ekiden Race (Hakone Ekiden), held on January 2 and 3 this year.

Kaikawa ran a strong race on the 10th leg, covering the 23 km from the Tsurumi Relay Station to the finish line in 1:13:31. He served as the anchor for the Kanto Student Union Team. Thank you for all your support.

Following Kei Sugiura (then a third-year student) in 2021 and Kotaro Tajima (then a first-year student) in 2022, Keio University again had a runner participate as part of the Kanto Student Union Team in 2023. Expectations are high for Keio University's return to the Hakone Ekiden as a team for the upcoming 100th race.
