The Correspondence Course offers Summer Schooling as part of its in-person classes. In academic year 2020, it was held online due to the impact of COVID-19. In academic year 2021, to prevent the spread of infection, only the laboratory schooling was held in person, while all other classes were held online. This academic year, however, while taking infection control measures, we were able to hold all classes fully in person for the first time in three years.

Following the orientation on August 7, schooling classes, including physical education and laboratory work, were held. Period I (August 8–13) and Period II (August 15–20) took place at Hiyoshi Campus, and Period III (August 22–27) at Mita Campus. Approximately 1,600 students from the Correspondence Course participated in each period.

On August 17, a lecture titled "The Post-COVID-19 World and the Chinese Economy: The Future of Inter-System Competition in the 'New Cold War'" was delivered by Dean Komagata of the Faculty of Economics as a Shinzo Koizumi Memorial Lecture. On August 23, a special lecture titled "The 150th Anniversary of 'Gakumon no susume (An Encouragement of Learning)'" was given by President Ito. Many students from the Correspondence Course attended.

This year, the schooling took place during a record-breaking heat wave and with careful attention to COVID-19 infection control measures. Nevertheless, during this period, the campuses were bustling with students of all ages who gathered and devoted themselves to their studies.
