On March 24, 2022, the "Times Higher Education Japan University Rankings 2022" were announced, with Keio University ranked 11th among Japanese universities, up one place from its 12th place ranking of the previous year.
This ranking is a comprehensive evaluation of the educational capacities of Japanese universities based on 16 performance indicators established from perspectives which differ from those used in the World University Rankings in four "pillar" areas of: "Resources," "Engagement," "Outcomes," and "Environment." Keio University achieved the top ranking among private universities in Japan.
