On January 20, the Ministry of Justice announced that 1,450 candidates (1,502 last year) passed the 2020 bar examination.
The number of successful candidates from Keio University Law School was 125 (down from 152 last year), with a final pass rate (successful candidates / examinees) of 49.8% (compared to 50.7% last year). By law school, Keio University ranked second in the number of successful candidates, following the University of Tokyo. Its pass rate was the second highest among private universities (seventh overall).
