Prof. Farber was at the helm for the launch in April of this year of the Cyber Civilization Research Center (CCRC) at Keio in his capacity of co-director of the center. He has a career spanning over 50 years, during which time his work has earned him countless accolades and he has been responsible for foundational contributions in the fields of electronics, programming languages, and distributed computing.
Prof. Farber has been chosen to receive this honor in the Section on Information, Computing & Communication through an election process involving his scientific peers that is intended to recognize distinguished achievements in the advancement of science. He will be inducted at the Fellows Forum during the February 16 annual meeting of the AAAS, to be held in Washington, D.C.
