On September 2, 2026, six physicians from National Taiwan University Hospital, affiliated with National Taiwan University, one of Keio University School of Medicine’s partner institutions, visited Keio University. The visiting physicians represented specialties including respiratory medicine, family medicine, and general medicine.
Professor Ho Namkoong of the Department of Infectious Diseases, Chair of the International Exchange Committee of the School of Medicine, welcomed the delegation and introduced Keio University Hospital, its role as a hub within the healthcare system, and the School of Medicine’s initiatives in research and clinical practice.
Following this, Project Assistant Professor Ryoichi Yokoyama of the Department of Diagnostic Radiology gave a presentation on the initiatives of the Department of Regional Medical Liaison and the AI Hospital.
During the AI Hospital tour after the presentation, the visitors were introduced to digital signage, the inpatient bed management system known as the Command Center, a medication-picking robot, the indoor delivery service robot FORRO, the WHILL autonomous wheelchair mobility service, and standing and seated CT systems. Lively question-and-answer exchanges took place at each stop.
The visitors commented that the visit was highly meaningful as National Taiwan University Hospital moves toward the full-scale introduction of AI. By sharing knowledge across education, research, and healthcare, the visit is expected to further strengthen international collaboration in the future.
