The 20th White Coat Ceremony was held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Kitasato Hall on the Shinanomachi Campus.

The White Coat Ceremony is a ceremony for the 112 fourth-year students (Class of 106), who will begin their clinical clerkships this January, to reaffirm their sincere commitment to patients and renew their dedication as aspiring physicians.

At the ceremony, Takanori Kanai, Dean of the School of Medicine; Morio Matsumoto, Hospital Director; and Junzo Takeda, President of the School of Medicine Sanshikai (Alumni Association), spoke about the importance of listening to patients' voices and making judgments with deep observational skills as the students begin their training in a clinical setting. They offered words of guidance and encouragement to the students as future medical professionals.

After a video of messages from faculty members of various departments, produced by the Class of 106, was shown, the white coats were presented, and the students recited the "Oath," which they had written themselves as part of their training in professionalism.

Wearing their new white coats, each embroidered with their name, the students took a new step forward with a spirit of compassion and service, aiming to become physicians trusted by their patients.
