Keio University

Department of Medicine

Since its founding in 1917, the Keio University School of Medicine has developed education and research based on Shibasaburo Kitasato's philosophy of "the integration of basic and clinical sciences." In the first year, students focus on basic liberal arts, followed by five years of specialized education and clinical training in subjects such as anatomy and pathology to develop medical professionals with both social awareness and ethics. By being exposed to medical settings at the Shinanomachi Campus from an early stage, we produce individuals equipped with a global perspective and a research mindset.
