Introducing the curriculum of the School of Medicine.

In academic year 2011, Keio University's unique IPE program, the "Inter-Professional Education Program," was launched.

A new curriculum was launched in 2014, providing consistent professionalism education over six years from the first to the sixth grade.

Here is an example of the learning opportunities at the School of Medicine.

This is a nine-year program to train Physician Scientists, consisting of six years in the School of Medicine Department of Medicine and three years in the Graduate School of Medicine Doctoral Programs.

By graduation, Keio University School of Medicine students will have acquired Competencies I through VIII (abilities gained through course completion).

Clinical clerkships take place from the third semester of the fourth year to the second semester of the sixth year. By interacting directly with patients, students deepen their medical knowledge and improve their skills while learning essential qualities for medical professionals, such as responsibility, leadership, and cooperation.

This curriculum has been implemented since 1989, allowing medical students to engage in research actively and proactively.

In the second semester of the fourth year, students acquire the skills and attitudes necessary for clinical clerkships and integrate their knowledge through an introduction to clinical training.

The Keio University School of Medicine holds a White Coat Ceremony in the third semester of the fourth year, when clinical clerkships begin.
