Cancer Professional Training Program

Keio University has participated in the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) subsidized projects aimed at training medical professionals who will lead future cancer care: the "Cancer Professional Training Plan (2007–2011)," the "Cancer Professional Training Infrastructure Promotion Plan (2012–2016)," and the "Cancer Professional Training Plan for Diverse New Needs (2017–2021)" (commonly known as "Gan-pro"). We have established and promoted various courses to train specialists who lead the development of advanced cancer care. Starting in fiscal year 2023, the "Next-Generation Cancer Professional Training Plan" has launched, and through this project, we will cultivate human resources to address the challenges emerging in the field of cancer care.

Furthermore, to curb the increasing number of cancer patients, we have included preventive medicine applying AI technology as a theme. While promoting personalized medicine based on genomic diagnosis, we will foster individuals capable of developing new treatment methods, incorporating perspectives from regulatory science.
