The Modern World, Full of Challenges
It may sound obvious, but the world is full of different people. Not only do we have different physical characteristics and social circumstances, but we also have diverse values, identities, and even political views. Some people support the current administration, while others criticize it. Some are indifferent to politics. But doesn't it seem strange? How is it that such a diverse group of people can form a community like a nation and live together in peace?
The Significance of Studying Political Science
Studying political science will not magically reveal solutions. Unfortunately, the world is not that simple. However, through the study of political science, you can clarify where the problems lie and train your thinking toward finding solutions. Political science can be broadly divided into two approaches: empirical and normative. The former seeks to clarify what reality is like through data analysis and historical research. The latter deals with normative questions, such as what goals we should pursue and why they can be considered right for everyone. It is important to understand and combine both approaches, and the Department of Political Science offers many classes so that individual students can learn about both.
Let us experience together the difficulty of thinking seriously and the even greater sense of fulfillment that comes with it.
