Fourth-year student, Department of Law (as of the 2023 academic year)
At university, I am a member of the Athletic Association Lacrosse Club. I have loved sports since I was little. I played basketball in junior high and high school, and I started playing lacrosse in college. Lacrosse is a fast-paced game, and I love the sense of speed and the moment when the team connects passes to score a goal. Last year, we became the student champions of Japan. We were aiming to win the championship again this year, but unfortunately, we were eliminated. As a starting player in my final year, I was very disappointed. However, I learned a lot from my four years of club activities: that I can keep going thanks to the support of many people, the joy of working hard and improving with my teammates, and the importance of keeping my head up no matter how difficult the situation. I want to apply these lessons and continue to strive with all my might on the next stage.
While participating in activities with the Athletic Association, I am also studying to achieve my dream of working in the legal profession. My aspiration to become a legal professional began in junior high school, inspired by reading the memoirs of my great-grandfather, who was a judge. My dream now is to become a prosecutor, someone who can pursue justice.
People often ask me if it's difficult to balance my commitments to the Athletic Association with my studies for university and the bar exam, suggesting I must not have enough time. But I believe that time is something you make, and if you use your limited time efficiently, nothing is impossible. My college life, where I devoted myself to lacrosse while also studying for my dream of becoming a legal professional, has been very fulfilling. After graduation, I plan to go to law school and continue studying for the bar exam. I expect my studies at law school to be even more rigorous, but I want to persevere, using the mental fortitude I developed through sports and academics during my college years as my strength.
