About the Journalism Track
The Graduate School of Law brings together a wide range of specialists in political science. Against this backdrop, the specialized track in Journalism was established to enable students to engage with advanced research in political science while deepening their understanding of the role journalists are expected to play in society.
The curriculum designates Joint Seminar On Politics And Society (Journalism) as a specialized core course (required), and journalism- and media-related courses offered by the Graduate School of Law and the Graduate School of Human Relations as specialized track electives (required electives). In addition, students may take a wide range of courses offered by the Major in Political Science, as well as courses provided by the Institute for Journalism, Media & Communication Studies at Mita Campus, including Reporting, Newspaper Writing Manner, English for Current Affairs, Current Affairs, Special Study In Broadcasting, and Special Study In Newspaper.
Students who complete the program and are recognized as having acquired the qualifications required of professional journalists are awarded the degree of Master of Journalism.
