Master's Program
For each academic field—Political Thought, Political and Sociological Theories, Japanese Politics, Area Studies and Comparative Politics, and World Politics—three types of courses are offered: special lectures, which enable intensive study in a given field; special seminars, which function as research seminars; and joint seminars, which are conducted within and across fields with the participation of multiple faculty members. In addition, project courses are offered with the aim of cultivating perspectives for examining contemporary issues from multiple angles.

Doctoral Program
For each academic field—Political Thought, Political and Sociological Theories, Japanese Politics, Area Studies and Comparative Politics, and International Politics—three types of courses are offered: special seminars, which enables deeper inquiry into specialized themes; advanced seminars, which function as research seminars; and joint seminars, which examine issues from diverse perspectives through the participation of multiple faculty members. Project courses, which aim to cultivate perspectives for examining contemporary issues from multiple angles, are also offered in the doctoral program. Furthermore, in order to ensure steady progress toward the completion of the doctoral dissertation, “Guidance for Dissertation 1,” “Guidance for Dissertation 2,” and “Guidance for Dissertation 3” are offered as courses.
