Lecture Overview:
Mayumi Arai received her Ph.D. from the Ph.D. program at Tokyo University of the Arts in the 2020 academic year and has consistently presented works on the theme of community. In her work, she explores the experience of the artist "becoming" as an artistic practice and develops an autoethnography in her doctoral dissertation. In this lecture, she will discuss artistic practices related to community and society, focusing on the themes of community, others, and the self.
