2020/03/03

The lecture "An Introduction to the Economics of Education—What Students in the Faculty of Education and Educators Should Know About Economics," scheduled for Saturday, March 14,

has been postponed to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus.
The new date and time will be announced as soon as they are decided.
We appreciate your understanding.

Overview: This lecture will begin with an introduction to the economics of education, designed for students unfamiliar with the subject.

The overall aim is to explain which aspects of economics, and to what extent, are beneficial for students of education and those working in educational settings to know.

In recent years, research in the economics of education has produced significant findings for examining so-called "disparity" issues in education and for evaluating the effectiveness of educational policies.

However, insights from the economics of education are not yet fully examined within the field of education, and vice versa, making interaction between the two disciplines essential.

In this lecture, Professor Hideo Akabayashi, a leading expert in the economics of education, will deliver a presentation to foster discussion on this issue from various perspectives.
