Overview: Various entities conduct research on the arts industry, including universities and other research institutions, professional associations, and government
agencies. In Japan, however, these organizations tend to work independently, and it can hardly be said that there is a clear division of labor or collabo
ration that leverages their respective strengths. This lecture will feature Ms. Yoshiko Sato and Ms. Mayumi Mita
from the Japan Foundation for Regional Art-Activities. They will provide an overview of the foundation's projects and their history, with a focus on its research activities, and
we will also discuss the potential for information sharing and systematic research.
