As the "medicalization" of society progresses and various clinical techniques are used as technologies to reflect on, care for, and monitor the self, how is our sense of self being transformed? We will welcome Dr. Jeremy Greene, a physician and medical historian who has led historical research on disease and medicine, to discuss the various politics surrounding "self-care" with researchers in Japan. In addition to researchers, educators, and students in the fields of medical sciences and the humanities and social sciences, we broadly welcome the participation of anyone interested in bridging clinical practice with the humanities and social sciences. No pre-registration is required and participation is free, so we encourage you to attend.
