2017/11/24
We are pleased to announce an admissions information session for the 2018 academic year for the Keio University Graduate School of Letters (Arts Management Program), as detailed below.
In 1991, Keio University was one of the first universities in Japan to establish an arts management course within its Faculty of Letters. In 2005, it established the Arts Management Program within the Aesthetics and Art History Major of the Graduate School of Letters. The Keio Graduate School's Arts Management Program is a master's program aimed at working professionals with practical experience. The course is designed to foster professionals by equipping them with the knowledge in various fields and the advanced skills required for Arts Management/Arts Administration. Classes are held mainly on weekday evenings and Saturdays, with a curriculum that allows students to study while remaining employed.
We encourage a wide range of individuals to consider studying in the Keio University Graduate School's Arts Management Program and to attend our admissions information session. This includes those involved in the management and governance of artistic organizations and cultural facilities; those in management positions or on the board of directors at such institutions who wish to further refine their management skills; government employees involved with arts and culture as part of their duties; those who wish to pursue a career in arts management in the future; artists who want to acquire business knowledge; and those who want to research non-profit or artistic organizations such as foundations, associations, and NPOs.
At the venue, individual consultations will be available on a variety of topics, including the content of the arts management field, the curriculum, the entrance examination, and how your areas of interest and research questions align with potential research topics. You can explain your research topic verbally, but bringing a research proposal will allow us to provide more detailed advice.
Walk-ins are welcome, but we would appreciate it if you could contact us by email in advance for venue preparation purposes. Additionally, if you let us know your topics of interest or any questions beforehand, we will prepare to answer them as thoroughly as possible.
