Abstract | As of the end of June 2017, an event called "Wikipedia Town" has been held over 100 times throughout Japan. It is an event where participants conduct fieldwork on local subjects and edit Wikipedia articles using local materials from libraries, museums, and other institutions. By introducing case studies from two Wikipedia Town events held at the Tsuru City Library, this presentation will discuss them as examples of how local materials can be utilized and as a model for events at libraries, museums, and similar institutions. |
