Lecture Outline:
Everyone possesses, as a function of the brain, the ability to acquire their own knowledge and skills in a meaningful way through active, interactive, and deep learning. Especially in an educational environment, it is expected that by promoting and activating these brain capabilities, children will continue their "learning and growth" and become independent, expert actors who can thrive in society. Therefore, this lecture will provide a neuroscientific explanation for children's "learning and growth"—a common goal of educational reforms around the world, including in Japan and the OECD. This will be done by proposing and utilizing the "Enactive Brain Theory & Model," a proactive brain system that supports human action (i.e., behavior with intention and motivation).
