Abstract:
In our daily lives, we often face situations where we can gain benefits by lying. Although there are significant individual differences in whether one chooses to lie or act honestly, the neural basis of this decision-making process is not yet clear. This lecture will primarily introduce findings on 1) the neural basis of reward sensitivity that determines individual differences in honesty, and 2) the characteristics and neural basis of dishonesty in psychopaths within US prisons.
