If You Are Hesitating, Choose the Graduate School of Business and Commerce

Currently, under the guidance of Professor Kazu Sato, I am working on my master's thesis regarding the workplace environment and employee work styles. My laboratory includes international students and senior students in Doctoral Programs, providing a wonderful environment for discussions from a wide range of perspectives. During my undergraduate years, I majored in a different field at another university. However, as the importance of the workplace environment grew, I felt a strong desire to analyze the factors that enhance employee engagement and well-being from an academic perspective, which led to my decision to pursue graduate studies.

The Graduate School of Business and Commerce has many professors with different perspectives even within the same field, providing an environment where one can absorb multifaceted knowledge and learn beyond the boundaries of a specific research theme. I am considering advancing to Doctoral Programs in the future, but since practical experience is also necessary to broaden one's knowledge of business administration, I am exploring my career options while also keeping employment in mind. Additionally, I plan to participate in a CEMS study abroad program starting this summer, and I am looking forward to gaining learning experiences that go beyond the framework of the Graduate School of Business and Commerce.

I believe the major difference between undergraduate and graduate school lies in the skills you can acquire. In graduate school, you construct logic and write a thesis based on numerous previous studies and deep discussions with professors. This process cultivates the ability to judge and organize information and explain it clearly. The expertise gained through the continuation of such activities is a valuable skill that can never be acquired during undergraduate years. Please consider graduate school as a path to broaden your life options.
