"A Comprehensive Critique of the Body: 21st Century Edition" (Shinyosha, March 2025), edited by Professor Emeritus Takayuki Tatsumi (President of the New York Gakuin) and Professor Emeritus Yoshiko Uzawa, has been published.
This book is a compilation based on lectures from the general course "The Body as Media," offered at the Faculty of Letters during the 2017 and 2018 academic years. A total of 45 full-time faculty members (at the time) and guest lecturers discuss the "body" from cutting-edge perspectives across a wide range of fields, from literature and cultural studies to medicine and political science, and in various contexts such as the state, religion, sexuality, ethnicity, and performance. The book captures the vibrant atmosphere of the original lectures.
