A: In addition to the General Selection, the Faculty of Letters has its own unique system called 'Selection of Students by Recommendation through Open Application.' Anyone who has the Keio University Faculty of Letters as their first choice and meets certain qualifications is free to apply. There are also admissions from five affiliated high schools within Keio, as well as entrance examinations for international students and for returnee students.
A: For first-year students, you will be divided into classes based on the language you wish to study, and each class will be assigned one academic advisor. From the second year onward, each major has multiple major-specific advisors who are available for consultation on matters such as student life and course registration. Additionally, the Faculty of Letters has committee members from the Academic Advisory Board and the Office of Student Services at both the Hiyoshi and Mita campuses.
A: As a general rule, changing your major after advancing to your second year is not permitted. Please make your selection carefully after attending the guidance sessions for the faculty and each major that are held during your first year.
A: Most majors accept all students who apply. However, some majors may conduct a qualifying examination or other assessment if the number of applicants exceeds a certain threshold.
A: These include junior high and high school teaching licenses (Japanese, Social Studies, Geography and History, Civics, English, Chinese, German, French, and Information), librarian, teacher-librarian, and curator qualifications.
A. For the Graduate School of Letters, there are currently no internal recommendations. Only admission through the general entrance examination and the entrance examination for international students (Master's Program) is permitted.
