Lecturer

Junko Sekine (stage actress and director; member of SPAC-Shizuoka Performing Arts Center; leads the theater company Otonoya.
She also directs "Ongaku Monogatari" [musical stories] with live music and theater, gives readings, and serves as a workshop instructor).

Organized by

Keio ABR, Mita Philosophical Society

Lecture Outline:

In addition to her work as a stage actress, including her appearance in the internationally acclaimed "Mahabharata" at SPAC in Shizuoka, Ms. Sekine also stages productions such as "Hagoromo" with her own theater company. Her workshops in communities and schools are also well-regarded. In this session, based on insights from the sociology of emotions, we will explore questions such as what constitutes a theatrical body, a theatrical voice, and theatrical expression itself, together with the participants in a workshop format.
