Director HIKARI's debut feature film, "37 Seconds," which achieved a historic double win at the Berlin International Film Festival, receiving both the Panorama Audience Award and the International Confederation of Art Cinemas
(CICAE) Art Cinema Award, has been hailed as "a film that has elevated Japanese cinema to a new
level" and is already thrilling film fans around the world. The film tells the story of its protagonist, Yuma, who has a physical disability caused by her breathing having stopped for just 37 seconds at birth. As she struggles to find a means of self-
expression, she meets various people and grows dramatically through unexpected
developments. A talk session on the theme of "Expression and Disability" will also be held. Seating is limited, but all interested parties are welcome to attend.
