Lecture Overview
Junko Sekine is an actor with SPAC-Shizuoka Performing Arts Center. In addition to performing on stage for SPAC, she is also a director. She presides over the theater company Otonoya, developing "musical story" activities that combine live musical performance with one-person plays. In this lecture, she will discuss the power of theater and its connection to the community. Amid various approaches such as applied theater, theater company outreach, community theater, and ethnotheater, Ms. Sekine will introduce her own work. Together with the audience, we will explore the possibilities of theatrical expression.
