The importance of non-sampling errors in social surveys (such as declining response rates, sampling failures, and measurement deficiencies) has long been pointed out. However, there seem to have been few attempts to systematically address this issue. In this seminar, Mr. Harumasa Yoshimura, who published the book "Non-sampling Error in Social Surveys" in 2017, will give a lecture on this topic. We hope to foster a broad discussion on the problem of non-sampling error in social surveys. We welcome all who are interested to attend.

Lecturer's Biography	Born in 1967. Graduated from the Department of Political Science, Faculty of Law, Keio University. Received his Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Chicago. After serving as a full-time lecturer and associate professor at Aomori University, he is currently a professor at Nara University. His major work is "Non-sampling Error in Social Surveys" (Toshindo, 2017). His specializations are social survey methods and social statistics.
