Overview |
The overwhelming increase in information resources via the internet has heightened the need for the organization of information resources. It is the users who give meaning to online information resources, which are merely bitstreams, and the organization of information resources serves as a means to streamline this process. Based on this premise, today's internet information resources, which can be manipulated at a finer granularity than books or papers, can be easily organized with flexible granularity to meet user needs. Exploring the organization of information resources that leverages this characteristic is a plausible direction. In this case, depending on how the granularity is set, it is possible to enhance the computability of information resources, thereby increasing user convenience. The author has long been engaged with this issue, primarily through the field of digital humanities. This direction will also be essential in shaping the future of digital archives, a field that has been flourishing in recent years.
