This presentation will introduce the origins and recent initiatives of the Oya Soichi Library as a magazine library, touching upon the magazines in its collection. It will also explain the evolution of the magazine article index—which has been uniquely categorized and provided to allow users to search and utilize individual articles from various perspectives—from index cards to the comprehensive catalog of magazine article indexes, and finally to Web OYA-bunko. The development plan for the database, scheduled for renewal around this summer, will also be discussed.
