Do you think that the study of Japanese literature is just about appreciating literary works?

That's not the case. We question the dynamics of "narrative" through modern literature by authors such as Soseki Natsume, and we consider how a single tale is transformed in picture scrolls and performing arts.

Waka poetry and Kanbun (Sino-Japanese) literature are means of conveying thoughts and appealing to the world.

In Japanese linguistics, we explore the structure of language and the mechanisms of its change.

Through exploration in a wide range of fields, we hone our logical analysis and expressive skills and acquire an independent intellect that is valuable in society.
