History at the university level is vastly different from the history you learn in high school. In the Major in Western History, you can learn an approach that involves "thinking" about history rather than "memorizing" it. The necessary attitude in the study of history is to approach historical materials after shedding assumptions and biases. After learning this way of approaching history, you will conduct in-depth research on countries and periods that interest you. By proactively posing questions and examining them using historical materials, you can form your own historical perspective.
