Learn to Identify& Solve Problems in the Spirit of Practical Learning
The School of Business and Commerce offers classes to help students discover and understand various social issues for themselves through research, experience, and lectures by practitioners. The purpose of these courses is not only to acquire expertise, but to deepen one’s understanding and apply the Keio spirit of jitsugaku, or practical learning, in order to build an awareness of the connection between knowledge and society.
Dialogue with the Community in the (First/Second Year)
This course is one of the General Education Seminars, where students conduct fieldwork in Hiyoshi, Motosumiyoshi, and other areas near campus. Students investigate, observe, and make recommendations about various issues facing the local community, such as the revitalization of shops on the high street, childcare, support for the disabled, and the state of the local community. Through observation and discovery in the field, students gain an understanding of the real issues facing local communities, examine them from an academic perspective, and develop practical critical thinking skills throughout the process.

Practical Studies for the 21st Century
This is an omnibus course invites industry leaders and alumni of Keio University to give lectures to students, who then experience the ideas and knowledge of people who are working at the forefront of society and have a different perspective from researchers or academic faculty. The goal of this course is to broaden students' perspectives and thus enable them to see the forest for the trees and think in more concrete terms, which can help deepen and enrich their attitude toward their studies.

The School of Business and Commerce has established several endowed lectures thanks to the generous support of various companies and organizations.
