Research Overview

My research ranges across medieval English literature, incunabula studies and the history of the book, with a comparative and transcultural perspective. I am co-editor of the critical edition of Caxton’s Golden Legend (Early English Text Society / Oxford University Press) and co-editor of Production and Provenance: Copy-Specific Features of Incunabula (Brill, 2025), which foregrounds the individuality of surviving early printed books. I am a Co-Director of Keio University’s X Dignity Center, an interdisciplinary hub that brings together scholars from the humanities, social sciences and sciences to reflect on dignity in the age of AI. My current work considers how historical modes of reading and interpretation can offer critical insight into contemporary challenges surrounding information overload, informational health and technological mediation.
