General Selection
This is an admission system that measures academic ability by scores on a written examination. There are two entrance examination methods: Type A (English, mathematics) and Type B (English, world history or Japanese history). The curriculum after enrollment differs depending on the admission method.
PEARL Entrance Examination
PEARL is a four-year program that begins in September and offers a four-year course of study in economics taught only in English. The program accepts students from a wide range of backgrounds, both from Japan and abroad. Admission is based solely on an online application process, which includes a comprehensive evaluation of IB or SAT scores to determine academic ability, TOEFL or IELTS results to measure English language proficiency, a statement of purpose, and a two-minute video. There is no interview or specific written examination.
Entrance Examination for Japanese Returnees
This is an admission system mainly for students who have graduated from high schools overseas. A comprehensive selection is made based on the submitted documents in the first stage and a reference essay and interview in the second stage.
Entrance Examination for International Students
This is an admission system mainly for graduates of junior high schools and high schools based on international education systems. A comprehensive selection is made based on the submitted documents.
Designated School Recommendation Entrance Examination
Selection is based on a recommendation from the principal of a designated school and documents submitted by the applicant.
