Keio Futsubu School has an event called "Meji Haruka Classes," where students attend classes taught by alumni.
Meji Haruka Classes take place over two days. One day consists of a "General Lecture," where the entire grade attends a class by a single alumnus, and the other day consists of "Course-Specific Seminars," where students attend classes by alumni in small groups of about 24 people. In both cases, the format is not fixed, and the alumni conduct their own original, handmade lessons. Every year, 33 alumni recommended by the Keio Futsubu School Alumni Association cooperate in this event.
The "General Lecture" is conducted in various formats, such as a lecture by an alumnus, or a dialogue between an alumnus and a teacher or student. Regardless of the format, dialogue between Keio Futsubu School students and alumni is emphasized, and active discussions take place through Q&A sessions.
In the "Course-Specific Seminars," alumni visit Keio Futsubu School to conduct classes through lectures, practical training, and exercises, or Keio Futsubu School students visit the alumni's workplaces for job observations, practical training, and exercises. By taking advantage of the small-group format, students not only gain a vision for their future through various experiences but also become aware of the vertical connections with their alumni.
