Keio Shiki Senior High School ──The Mural of Kosaikan──

Published: June 03, 2026

In March 2024, Kosaikan was completed to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the founding of Keio Shiki Senior High School. It is a multipurpose building featuring a hall, two music rooms, a medium-sized classroom, a Japanese-style room, and a seminar room. The face of the building is the mural "FFIGURATI #614" by Enrico Isamu Oyama (Class of 2003). Mr. Oyama is an artist based in New York and Tokyo, known for his works featuring a motif he calls "Quick Turn Structure."

In July 2023, prior to the creation of the mural, he appeared before the entire student body as a lecturer for the 135th Shiki Public Speaking Event. Under the title "Art as Personal Expression: The Case of Aerosol Writing," he provided an overview of aerosol writing as it relates to his own expression.

The mural at Kosaikan is not limited to the front of the entrance hall but wraps around to the exterior walls. The presence of the work, which catches the eye even from outside the grounds, showcases the free spirit of Keio Shiki Senior High School.
