MASTER'S PROGRAM IN TAXATION POLICY AND MANAGEMENT

Q. When can I enroll?

A. The Master's Program in Taxation Policy and Management (TPM) admits students once a year, with enrollment in September.

Q. Can I change my enrollment date or year after submitting my application?

A. No. Applicants cannot change their enrollment date or year after their application has been accepted. Please ensure that you apply for the intended enrollment period before submitting your application.

Q. How can I confirm whether I am eligible to apply?

A. Please refer to the Eligibility Requirements section of the Application Guide. Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements, including academic qualifications, professional experience in tax policy and administration, commitment to continuing a career in tax service, and English language proficiency. Admission eligibility is determined based on the criteria specified in the Application Guide.

Q. My academic background is not in taxation. Am I eligible to apply?

A. The TPM Program is primarily intended for professionals engaged in tax policy and tax administration. Eligibility is evaluated comprehensively based on an applicant's academic qualifications, professional experience, and future career plans. Please refer to the Application Guide for detailed eligibility requirements.

Q. Is tax-related work experience required?

A. The TPM Program is primarily designed for professionals working in tax policy and tax administration. Applicants are advised to carefully review the eligibility requirements specified in the Application Guide, including those related to professional experience.

Q. I have done the TOEFL, or the IELTS test more than once. Can I combine the best section scores from all of my test scores (superscoring)?

A. Superscoring is not accepted, and you cannot combine the section scores from different tests.

Q. My TOEFL®, and/or IELTS scores may be transmitted to Keio before the start of the application period. Will they still be accepted?

A. Yes. We will match your scores to your application after it is submitted.

Q. Are there any scholarships available for the TPM students?

A. Admitted TPM students may be eligible to apply for scholarships, including the Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP) and the ADB-Japan Scholarship Program. Please refer to the TPM Application Guide and the respective scholarship websites for eligibility requirements and application procedures. Q. Can I apply for the ADB-Japan Scholarship Program (ADB-JSP) through the TPM Program?

A. Yes. Students admitted to the TPM Program may be eligible to apply for the ADB-Japan Scholarship Program (ADB-JSP), subject to the scholarship's eligibility requirements. Detailed eligibility criteria and selection procedures are determined by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and are available on the ADB-JSP website. Following admission to the TPM Program, Keio University will provide information and application materials to admitted students who wish to apply. Scholarship application documents must be submitted through Keio University, while the final selection decision is made by ADB.

Q. Can I apply for the Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP) through the TPM Program?

A. Yes. Students admitted to the TPM Program who wish to apply for the JJ/WBGSP may be considered by Keio University for nomination, subject to the scholarship's eligibility requirements. Detailed eligibility criteria and application procedures are determined by the World Bank and are available on the JJ/WBGSP website. Candidates nominated by Keio University will be invited to submit a scholarship application to the World Bank, which makes the final selection decision.
