Not only the level of classes and research, but the quality of students is also very high

The strength of having a one-year grace period to choose a department

I had a desire to learn about information engineering, and I considered my higher education options starting from that point. While I didn't worry much about which faculty or department to choose, there were many twists and turns in choosing a university. The two main reasons I decided on Keio University were that it is positioned a step ahead in the field of information engineering and that I had good compatibility with the entrance exam questions.

The strength of the faculty is, after all, the one-year grace period after enrollment before choosing a department. I think it is attractive to be able to reconsider the field I want to specialize in, including reviewing my choices, while having both time and mental leeway after finishing the entrance exams.

Growing while acquiring the skills of an engineer

In experiments, we form groups of several people and freely develop applications using software, or use the university's GPUs to perform machine learning and communication simulations. It's not only interesting, but it also allows you to grow while acquiring the skills of an engineer. In lectures, two-way communication with the professors is highly valued.

Furthermore, the Department of Information and Computer Science is characterized by not only the high level of classes and research but also the very high quality of the students. The achievements of the professors and seniors, such as their research papers, are top-level, and I am surprised by the high level of my peers every time we do experiments together. Also, as the department name suggests, we encounter many programming languages. I think I am on the high side, having handled more than five, but I feel that many students find that rewarding.

Creating a school festival as the executive committee chairperson

Outside of academics, I served as the chairperson of the Yagami Festival Executive Committee. Managing 360 committee members and creating a school festival was very rewarding. I still clearly remember the view when I gave a speech in front of the visitors before the finale fireworks.

Utilizing the abilities gained from that experience and learning, I currently serve as an officer of the All Keio Student Council (the student government of Keio University, so to speak), primarily in charge of the IT department. Not limited to the Yagami Campus, I face the endless question of how the university can become a better place for students every day.

To the world that expands beyond working with all your might

I plan to go to graduate school after graduation, but right now, I have two goals: to cherish the one year until graduation as my first year as a researcher, and to fulfill my duties as an officer of the All Keio Student Council. I believe that a new world will expand beyond taking on the things in front of me one step at a time with all my might.

I believe that "fate" is what ultimately decides where, with whom, and what you learn and experience. I think that believing and making an effort is what you can do to make the fate waiting ahead even slightly better. I am sincerely rooting for your fate to be something wonderful.
