A Seminar Where You Can Tackle Activities with Ambitious Goals

Moving Toward Areas of Interest After Broad Learning

I have been interested in business since high school. I aimed for the Faculty of Business and Commerce because I believed that in order to succeed as a professional in the future, practical learning would be just as important as academic knowledge.

Among various options, the curriculum of the Keio University Faculty of Business and Commerce was attractive because it consists of four fields—Management, Accounting, Commerce, and Economy & Industry—allowing for comprehensive study across a wide range of areas. I felt that the system of learning broadly first rather than narrowing it down to one field from the start was perfect for my inquisitive nature.

A Professor Who Supports Us in Problem Solving

In my seminar, we study marketing and consumer behavior. We work proactively as a group on everything from theme setting and analysis to subsequent new proposals. When we get stuck, the professor stands on the same level as us to think together and supports our growth toward solving the problem. Even after entering society, I want to utilize the logical thinking skills cultivated through research.

Additionally, the appeal of our seminar is that we can always engage in activities with big goals, such as participating in external competitions or presenting research overseas. While there are many challenges, there are just as many fun moments, and I am able to spend very fulfilling days. I also feel that I have made lifelong friends through these activities.

The Charm of Meeting Each Individual

Since everyone around me has such diverse backgrounds, meeting each individual is fascinating, and I feel like my world is expanding every day. I knew there were many students, but I didn't expect to build connections with so many people through classes and circles.

The unique feature of the Faculty of Business and Commerce is, after all, the wide variety of fields you can study. In addition to the four fields mentioned earlier, I have also studied things like corporate law. I believe the strength lies in being able to acquire a broad range of knowledge that is useful in practice.

A Valuable Experience Involved in Running a Children's Cafeteria

Since my first year, I have been involved in operating a children's cafeteria at the university as part of my circle activities. Creating a project from scratch was a first-time challenge for me, and I was able to approach it with a fresh mindset. Being able to interact with the university cafeteria staff and local children was a very valuable experience.

Since entering the university, my "common sense" has been constantly updated, and I feel my perspective is broadening. I'm sure many of you are currently facing worries as exam candidates, but I hope you choose a university where you can achieve your goals. I would be happy if you chose Keio University among them. Beyond that, a fun and fulfilling student life awaits you.
