Four Keio University students took part in the Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU) Multi-Hazards 2026 Summer School, held at Tohoku University from July 29 to August 1, 2026.
The APRU Multi-Hazards Summer School is an annual program organized by the International Research Institute of Disaster Science (IRIDeS) at Tohoku University. Through a wide range of activities, including lectures, workshops, and projects related to the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami, the program aims to equip participants with the foundational knowledge and practical skills to mitigate disaster risk.
Under this year’s theme, “From Science to Society: Advancing Disaster Risk Reduction for a Resilient Future,” participants from a wide range of academic disciplines, cultures, and backgrounds came together to learn from one another and exchange ideas, united by a shared commitment to building a safer and more disaster-resilient world.
