Since AY 2010, Noshiro City (Akita Prefecture) and the Keio Research Institute at SFC have been promoting town development centered on "basketball town development" that makes use of local resources as well as carrying out various research surveys. The research group under Professor Masatoshi Tamamura from the Faculty of Policy Management is continuously engaged in the research and development of programs related to regional revitalization and support for basketball community development, as well as in the verification and analysis of promotion plans of basketball community-building and enhancing the functions of the basketball museum.
